Description
Product Overview
PP-g-MAH as a high-performance coupling agent and compatibilizer produced via reactive extrusion. By grafting strongly polar Maleic Anhydride (MAH) onto the non-polar PP backbone, it serves as a “molecular bridge”—seamlessly entangling with the PP matrix while forming strong chemical bonds with polar interfaces.
With high reactivity, superior melt fluidity, and exceptional batch-to-batch grafting consistency, PP-g-MAH optimizes interfacial adhesion, mechanical strength, and processing stability.
Applications & Solutions
- Glass Fiber Reinforced Polypropylene (GF-PP):Serves as a high-efficiency coupling agent between glass fibers and the PP matrix. Substantially improves glass fiber wet-out and interfacial adhesion; drastically boosts tensile strength, flexural modulus, and Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT); effectively eliminates surface “fiber floating.”
- Mineral-Filled Polypropylene :Acts as a dispersing agent and interfacial modifier for inorganic fillers. Prevents filler agglomeration, reduces stress concentrations, and strikes an optimal balance between structural rigidity and impact toughness.
- PP Alloys with Polar Resins (PP/PA, PP/EVOH Alloys):Functions as a compatibilizer to lower interfacial tension between immiscible polymers. Promotes fine domain morphology, enabling alloys to combine PP’s low moisture absorption with the high strength, wear resistance, and barrier properties of polar resins.
- Co-extruded Multi-layer Barrier Packaging (Tie-Layer Resin):Serves as an adhesive tie-layer resin in multi-layer structures such as PP / Tie / EVOH / Tie / PP. Delivers outstanding inter-layer peel strength, ensuring package integrity during thermal forming, steam sterilization, or retort processing without delamination.
